Church Ministries
Children's Ministry
First Assembly's Children's Ministries begin in Sunday School
each week at 9:30. Children's Sunday School is for ages 5-12
years and consist of a Bible lesson and activity pages which
will be continued during Children's Church.
Nursery is provided during the Sunday AM Service
and is for ages Birth - 5

Children's Church (for ages 5-12)
Children's church begins following our praise and worship.
The children have a lesson presented in an exciting manner
consisting of songs, games, and object lessons to assist them
in fully understanding the meaning of the Scripture. Children
are rewarded for their progress in class and for how they have
applied what they have learned in their daily life.
Wednesday nights consist of Bible stories read directly
from the Word. The subject is discussed and the children are
taught to apply what they have learned. There are also crafts
and other activities to support each story.

area of Bible doctrine, Christian service, moral conduct,
and basic beliefs of our church hrough means of
interesting activities the boys enjoy.
Royal Rangers meet every Wednesday night at 7:00 pm

WOMEN'S MINISTRIES

Carol Knipschield
Women's Ministries meets the 4th Friday Night of each month at 7:00 pm with the exception
of January, February & March. We open with prayer request & prayer. We have devotions
& discuss business & our plans for the following months, which include certain benevolent
projects. We do a monthly drawing to exchange names for individual prayer; also beginning
in 2009 we are reactivating the “Secret Sister” plan. We support Chris and Angela Nelson
who are missionaries to Venezuela.
Our meetings are open to all ladies in our church, neighborhood, or from other churches.
Come and be a part of sharing with other women information, fun, and fellowship.
Our prayer is that God will direct us as to what HE would have us do.
(Ephesians 5:17)

Drew Corrington
Men's Ministry meets the 1st Saturday of each month at 9:00 am.
with the exception of January, February, and March.
Our meeting begins with prayer and then a wonderful breakfast.
Following breakfast, our men discuss the needs of the church and in
what ways we can assist in meeting those needs. Some meetings
are followed by a work day in which we make any necessary repairs
or improvements that are needed on the property.
Our goal is not just to meet the needs of men in the church but
to invite co-workers, neighbors, family and friends to come to
this fellowship to learn more about our loving Savior, Jesus
Christ. We want men every where to see Jesus in us, in all we
do, all we say, and wherever go.

Terry Chamberlain
Our Food Pantry Ministry at First Assembly, overseen
by Terry Chamberlain, has been a blessing to a number of
families in our area.
Due to lay offs, plant closings, and the increase in price of
heating fuel, some have had to seek assistance in order to
meet the needs of their families. Our food pantry is available
to anyone with a need. It is stocked by items brought in by
members of our church and by cash donations.
We hope to at least double this effort next year. Anyone
wishing to give to this ministry may bring items to the
church or send a cash donation marked for that purpose.
(Mark 9:41) "For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to
drink in my name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say
unto you, he shall not lose his reward."

Missions
Missions is a big part of our ministry here at First Assembly.
We currently support 14 foreign missionaries.
The first Sunday of each month is designated Missions Sunday.
On this day we receive a special offering along with the "Buddy
Barrels" that our children bring in with change they have
collected during the month. This offering is put into a
special account from which monthly pledges are sent to our
missionaries.
We are also sending a special Christmas offering to each of our
missionary families this Christmas.

In November 1914, our early leaders met at Stone County Church in
Chicago and made an astounding declaration: "As a Council, ... we
commit ourselves and the Movement to Him for the greatest evangelism
that the world has ever seen." Through the enabling power of the Holy
Spirit, AGWM represents more than 4,091 people (appointed
missionaries, missionary associates, and missionary children) scattered
throughout 212 countries and territories.
The mission of AGWM, stands on four biblical pillars:
REACHING. We are proclaiming the message of Jesus Christ to the spiritually lost in all the
world through every available means.
PLANTING. We are establishing churches in more than 191 countries, following the New
Testament pattern.
TRAINING. We are training leaders throughout the world to proclaim the message of Jesus
Christ to their own people and to other nations.
TOUCHING. We are touching poor and suffering people with the compassion of Jesus Christ
and inviting them to become His followers.

WOUNDS THAT HEAL
I remember hearing stories in high school about self-mutilation and wondering how someone could do that to her own body. It made no sense. My immediate conclusion was that it had to be for attention. What else could drive a person to do such a thing? I also remember knowing that something like that would never be a problem for me. I was too strong to ever resort to hurting myself, or so I thought. -
SELF-INJURING: A CRY FOR HELP
“…By his wounds we are healed”. (Isaiah 53:5) “Sometimes I cut myself. Sometimes I burn myself.” She was a beautiful 16-year-old girl explaining her secret behaviors for when she felt overwhelmed with life and hurtful memories. I was a 23-year-old youth pastor trying to listen and help, feeling stunned by behavior I had heard of but never seen. -
Keeping Girls Motivated
As a leader of teen girls you know this age group doesn’t fall into rigidly–structured programs like younger girls. Teen girls share their opinions of club format. So how do you react? Don’t take it personally; consider it their investment in the club. However, if their comments have you wondering how to keep up attendance, try these five suggestions. -
